Set to open later this year, Ford's new Innovation Office will focus on smart mobility solutions for Europe
We’re delighted to announce that Ford is joining our growing community of innovators, start-ups and tech specialists. With Loughborough University London in their second year, Plexal, Europe’s largest technology innovation destination now open and a myriad of other impressive and diverse companies opening at Here East, the addition of Ford to our growing campus is an exciting milestone.
We believe that the success of London’s tech sector depends on significant collaboration between entrepreneurs, established businesses, academics and policy makers. At our campus on the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, we’re designing an environment where collaboration and innovation can flourish with a careful curation of diverse tenants.
“The location at Here East will allow us greater collaboration and the out-of-the-box thinking needed to tackle the urban transport challenges of tomorrow,” said Steven Armstrong, group vice president and president of Europe, Middle East and Africa, Ford Motor Company.
On campus, the 40-strong, dedicated Ford team will have easy access to world-class digital companies, leading universities and existing partners as it targets the near-term development of smart mobility solutions.
With existing cutting edge trials in London, including the plug-in hybrid Transit fleet project launching later this year, Ford are ideally placed at Here East. The Olympic Park’s unique private road network may also be used for testing going forwards. Watch this space.
