Head of Engineering

Role Purpose

• To lead the engineering department of the organization; from hiring and training new team members to managing projects and preparing and managing the engineering budget. Integrating external partners and service providers which included, tendering and mobilization of contracts. Drive energy-saving initiatives to deliver the Here East ESG Strategy. Monthly reporting on energy consumption.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage and mentor the engineering team to ensure high performance and delivery of quality work.
• Define and implement engineering standards, processes, and procedures to ensure consistency across all projects and the department.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within budget and to the required standard.
• To develop, implement and manage Environmental and Energy Conservation Programs (working with others where necessary), ensuring optimum usage of energy.
• Collaborate with other departments, such as property managers, security, and the operations team, to ensure that engineering is aligned with business goals.
• Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement and learning within the engineering team.
• Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and partners.
• Develop and manage the engineering budget, ensuring that resources are allocated appropriately.
• Lead in the recruitment of engineering team members, ensuring that the team has the required skills and expertise to deliver on projects and departmental objectives.
• Contract Management. Organize and attend Monthly meetings with associated contractors. Monitor, analyze and interpret the correct functioning of plant and systems via the Building Management System or other means.
• Provides technical guidance and direction, as well as hands-on resource and project management, for all engineering activities.
• Understanding of new and relevant technologies for the purpose of realizing efficiency and energy-saving initiatives.
• Day-to-day operational management, scope management, issue and risk management, as well as regular status reporting.
• Strategic planning which includes driving innovation strategic planning to deliver the Life Cycle Replacement Plant (Operational and Financial).
• Cross-departmental collaboration with all other property management departments
• Compliance with all current legislation and recommended standards Verify Contractor's Risk Assessments are up to date and appropriate to building and maintenance tasks
• Review Tenant License Applications. Review and comment on drawings, specifications and reports submitted by the Tenants and advise the Landlord accordingly of any impact on base build operations or any technical or lease concerns.
• Prepare contract documentation to include: - Tender Documents, agreements and specifications. Manage tendering procedures. Analyse Tenders and undertake post-tender interviews. Produce Client Contract Placing Report. Manage contractor closely during the mobilization period and through to completion.
