Here East recognised as the most outstanding Refurbished and Recycled Workplace in the UK

We’re thrilled to announce Here East has been awarded a national award for the best Refurbished and Recycled Workplace in the UK by the British Council of Offices (BCO).

Judges for the annual BCO Awards described Here East as ‘an exceptional solution’ to a ‘particularly non-traditional starting point.’ They went on to highlight that while some had been wary the building would become a depressingly prominent white elephant, it has become a world-class business centre that represents the perfect legacy story.

Here East has been purpose-built to encourage collaboration across a wide range of sectors and companies of all sizes. Our technology-focused campus is home to academics, scientists, entrepreneurs, startups and creative businesses. Judges recognised this and said Here East ‘delivered valuable lessons in how to create a multi-functional environment where business, education and research can combine for mutual benefit.’

The campus has recently consolidated its position as a cluster of creative businesses by opening The Trampery on the Gantry, 21 state-of-the-art studios for creatives.

Here East also is home academic institutions such as Loughborough University London and UCL, fast-growth businesses including MATCHESFASHION.com and Sega’s Sports Interactive and global companies such as BT Sport and Ford Smart Mobility.

We are exceptionally proud to be heralded as a global leader in the commercial redevelopment of Olympic parks.

This year feels like a coming of age moment for Here East.   We have shown that a visionary team, world-class design, authentic place-making to support cluster growth and a commitment to curating a network of like-minded businesses and individuals can create a place of real value to the community, economy, city and the nation.  We’ve known this for a long time and of course it’s great that now it’s being recognised by others.
