National Fitness Day is a chance to highlight the role physical activity plays across the UK, helping UK Active raise awareness of its importance in helping us lead healthier and active lifestyles.

Here East will be exploring cycling for this year's National Fitness Day, with lots of free activities to watch or take part in. Extreme Bike Battle, the UK’s premier bike stunt crew, will be performing in the yard at 12pm, 1pm and 2pm.

The Press Centre reception will host activities for seasoned cyclists and those interested in taking up the sport. There will be a chance to make your own smoothie on a bike or have a go at racing a colleague on the rollapaluza bikes where participants battle it out on bikes over a sprint distance at speeds over 50mph.

Innerfit will also be leading a workshop on how to design your own workout plan. Come and learn how to design your own workout plan with our guest Personal Trainer. Whether you are new to exercise or a seasoned pro, training for couch to 5k or a marathon, this session will give you a workout routine you have confidence in. Spaces are limited on these workshops at 12:30-1.15pm and 1.30-2.15pm so please book by emailing chris@innerfit.co.uk.

Pro Bike services will also be on hand for free bike MOT’s, puncture repair workshops and a fastest tire change challenge with some amazing prizes to be won.

There will also be cycling themed pop-ups and stalls in the Press Centre reception, so head down and check it out on your lunch break.
