BADU Community is hosting an annual “Proud to Be” event. A day of learning and celebrating iconic figures during Black History month.

In celebration of Black History month BADU Community presents “Proud to be”. The first of a two-day Black History celebration, we'll be celebrating the stories, sounds and creativity of Black culture.

During the event you'll access different stations where you can get a glimpse of Black culture through our exhibition style experience. The displays and discussions will provide insight in the origins and importance of Black History.

To aid this experience there will be:

  • Storytelling
  • African drumming
  • Poetry and spoken word

Visual displays of:

  • Impactful images
  • African and Caribbean fabrics and fashion
  • Musical influences
  • Inventors

Due to the success and demand from last year’s event, Proud to Be merchandise will be on sale.

This event is open to all, so we hope you can come down and celebrate Black History Month with us in this empowering experience.
