Join us for a week of free health and wellbeing sessions at Here East to kick-start 2019.

Beat Blue Monday by starting off your day with a hot pod yoga session followed by a DIY winter wellness survival kit workshop at lunchtime. Throughout the week you’ll also get the chance to make your own terrarium, have a free massage and receive expert advice on how to stick to your fitness goals for the new year.

We’ll be hosting daily hot pod yoga sessions from Monday to Friday at 7:30am and 6pm in Retail Unit 13 (far left of the Press Centre). Come along and experience yoga in its most potent form. The hot pod and the physicality of the flows will work your body, while the dim lights, purple hues and immersive soundscapes will calm your busy mind. Please book your place by emailing events@hereeast.com stating which session you would like to attend, e.g. morning or evening and day of the week, along with your full name. Yoga sessions are available to Here East tenants only.

Workshop: One-to-one SwimChecks

New to The Trampery on the Gantry at Here East, Immerse Swimming are on a mission to help you stretch your potential and discover swimming you never imagined possible. To celebrate their arrival at Here East as well as Wellbeing Week they are offering free 45-minute SwimChecks. If you swim, this is an opportunity for you to have a specialist evaluate, review and give you feedback on your swimming. If you are new to swimming, you will love their patient approach designed for adult beginners. For full details, please see their Here East SwimCheck webpage.

Workshop: Make a Winter Wellness Survival Kit

Learn to love the colder months by making your own wellness products to keep you cosy indoors. In this workshop you’ll learn about the restorative and relaxing properties of herbs and essential oils, making your own nature-inspired winter survival kit. This selection of handmade products includes herbal bath-bags, an all-natural sleep pillow and a soothing scented candle, all for you to take home at the end of the session. Please note that this is a drop-in session, feel free to attend anytime between 12:30-2:30pm.

Workshop: Your New Year's Fitness Resolution

Do you ever struggle for motivation? Start with healthy intentions without always seeing them through?

More than 40 per cent of New Year's Resolutions fail within one month and over 90 per cent fail by the end of the year. Personal Trainer and Founder of Innerfit is here to help the Here East community reach their goals. You're invited to join for a lunchtime workshop from 1.00-1.45pm and 1-1 Consultations from 9.30am-12.30pm and 2.30-5.00pm. Both will be filled on a first-come-first-served basis, please email Chris to secure your spot.

Workshop: Taster to Mindfulness 

Join this taster to mindfulness session to find out what mindfulness is and isn’t, as well as the ‘whys’ and the ‘hows’ of practicing mindfulness. In addition to learning about the science underpinning why mindfulness works, participants get to experience mindfulness practices for themselves. You will be introduced to the principles of mindfulness and some of the scientific research that supports its effectiveness and then practice 2-3 meditation practices, such as the body scan, the mindfulness of breathing practice and a '3 step breathing space' practice. Workshop: Make a Terrarium

A terrarium is a handmade, mini-ecosystem, made with living plants that thrive in contained conditions. Creating your own terrarium is a great way to add greenery into your home that is easy to look after. Take this workshop to learn how to make them, which plants to choose and how to maintain them, and come home with your own indoor garden in a glass bowl to take home with you. Please note that this is a drop-in session, feel free to attend anytime between 12:30-2:30pm.

Workshop: De-stressing Massages

Let the stress of the working week melt away with a free 15-minute massage on a special ergonomic chair, focusing on back, neck, shoulders, arms and scalp. A thorough routine, will leave you feeling relaxed, more alert and uplifted for the rest of the day. Make sure to book your place to avoid disappointed as limited spaces are available.
