On September 30th 2022, Here East hosted Freshers Fest to welcome incoming students to a range of universities and activities on campus.

Over 2,000 students attended the event as they prepared to begin classes at Staffordshire University of London, LMA, and Loughborough University London. The three universities are all based on the Here East campus in London’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and welcome thousands of incoming students every year.

Freshers Fest was a sunny day filled with food trucks, a steel band playing live music, and interactive games for all. Beverage companies such as Monster Energy and Four Quarters East supplied students with free samples to sip on while they strolled throughout the event.

Attendees of Freshers Fest were able to explore diverse information stalls from local retailers and pharmacies to society and club stands from all participating universities. The cosplay society offered facial life drawings for all interested students.

In addition, the ‘Here East Safety Initiative’ was showcased at the event to reinforce the protection of all students on campus.

Here East’s Head of Security and Front of House, Leighton Jones, presented the campus’ Safety Initiative which includes car park escort services and call services to ensure students arrive safely to their destinations on and off campus.
