Here East commits to Armed Forces Covenant
Yesterday Here East’s CEO, Gavin Poole and Plexal’s CEO, Andrew Roughan, committed to the Armed Forces Covenant in the presence of General Sir Jim Hockenhull, Commander of UK Strategic Command.
The Armed Forces Covenant is a promise made by the nation to ensure that those who serve or have served in the armed forces, are treated with fairness and respect in their communities and are not disadvantaged because of their military service. The official signing of the Armed Forces Covenant took place in Plexal at Here East as it marked Strategic Command’s Annual Conference.
As part of the pledge, Here East is proud to demonstrate our commitment to supporting the armed forces community and their families, including veterans, reservists, and cadet instructors.
By signing the covenant, Here East hopes to mark the first steps towards forming stronger links between businesses and the armed forces community. To raise awareness and appreciation of the sacrifices made by the military and to promote understanding of their essential contribution to society and the economy.
With over twenty years of service in the Royal Air Force and time spent working at the Ministry of Defence, and championing social justice, Here East’s CEO, Gavin Poole, has long advocated for the continued support of those with a military background - and was instrumental in the Service Personnel Command Paper, which offered cross-government support to our armed forces.
